In the I.T world, we are constantly getting feedback from systems, via dashboards, emails, or apps and these provide us with vital information on how to optimise to perform better. As human beings, this can be slightly more tricky. Yes, we can have watches and apps that tell us how many calories we have burnt and how many steps we have taken and even how well we have slept, but is that really giving us any insight into our real health?
As a coach one of the number one issues I see on a daily basis is guessing. People like to “guess” what they should be doing, what is right for them, what they should be eating, the list goes on. This generally isn’t based on facts, its based on the media, YouTube, Instagram, magazines, or celebrity fad diet. Yes, in some cases people get great results and feel better, but with the majority of people I work with are in a constant state of guessing which creates havoc on their health and mental state. Guessing is not only time consuming it creates unnecessary stress on your mind and body.
This leads to:
BUT WHAT IF YOU COULD STOP GUESSING AND BE LASER FOCUSED…
This is the key to any transformation. Running lab tests on your self is CRUCIAL. You CANNOT optimise your self if you DON’T know where to start. Having a starting point is how you make good decisions. Everybody no matter what has their own unique biology and by looking at data we can focus on CAUSES of problems rather than focusing on SYMPTOMS.
CTRL ALT – DEL - REBOOT:
When looking at your body the first point to start optimising your self is a deep dive into your hormones. If your hormones are not functioning correctly your body and brain will never run optimally. It's like having a slow processor and trying to multi-task – eventually, things fall over.
You can then look at:
Gut function – are you processing your food correctly?
What should you be eating?
What does your body hate and what does it like?
Stress levels – do you have adrenal issues?
What does your body need to assist it with your lifestyle?
Only once you have done this groundwork can you then start to reap the benefits of your body running well:
So, you can see data is key to not only the I.T world but for maximum human potential. This is the starting point for not just performing well, but performing at your best.
